Er... well maybe not quite yet. But ...
I've been working on the story from day one and so it has changed many many times. A lot of research has gone into it.... I've read countless books and internet articles about what makes a story work and become successful.
Although a huge amount of work goes into the production of a CGI animated film, the most important thing is always the story. I'm relying on a good solid tale to carry the film through all the many compromises that the visual production will have to make to make it possible. If the audience enjoys the story, then they might forgive the odd lapse in visual perfection that they are now so very used to.
To this end, I pitched the story so far to Jonny Perl at Hollywood. He works as production co-ordinator for Rob Minkoff's company Cinemation. Rob is the veteran Director and Producer behind Disney's "The Lion King" & "Haunted Mansion". He also has credits on "The little Mermaid" & "Beauty & the Beast"
I was pleased and relieved that Upstart & Rummage got full marks in all categories, namely:
Pitch delivery/Format,
Clarity of Pitch,
Set up of protagonist & World,
Obstacles & Conflict,
Clarity of Tone,
and Originality of Concept.
Jonny also made some really nice comments and says he'll share the website with some potentially interested parties.
So it's nice to know that the storyline is well on track and that the project is being commended by guys who know their stuff, very encouraging.
Also sent another pitch to Julia Verdin which you can read about in my blog of JUNE 2019, with similar encouring results.
Sooo.... the Screenplay is completed, but I'm sure it'll still be edited further... it has to be right.
You want to know the story?... well, there will be snippets added to the blog later. The nice thing is that it's based in Market Harborough and the local people have embraced that and have been very supportive and made some very kind comments.
